AEK BANK 1826: 200th anniversary in 2026
At the start of the 2026 financial year, in which AEK BANK 1826 celebrates its 200th anniversary, it can look back on a very successful 2025 financial year. Customer deposits grew by a substantial CHF 215.8 million to over CHF 4.61 billion in 2025, reflecting the trust customers place in the bank. Thanks to these high levels of customer deposits, AEK BANK was largely able to refinance the growth in customer loans, which amounted to CHF 237.4 million. Customer deposits increased significantly during the 2026 financial year, and the bank is celebrating its 200th anniversary.
200 Years of AEK BANK 1826
The year 2026 will be a year full of diverse anniversary activities for AEK Bank: For example, in August, in cooperation with the Thun Festival, there will be a concert evening on Thun’s town hall square; in late summer, an AEK corn maze will be created on the Burgerallmend Thun Süd; in autumn, an “AEK Cinema Day” will take place; and in December, the grand anniversary evening will be held at the Thun-Expo grounds. The anniversary book “200 Years of AEK BANK 1826,” spanning approximately 200 pages, combines historical insights with personal stories from the immediate vicinity of AEK Bank.
